Advocacy Alert Pertaining Beacon Hill Development above Upchuck/DH Courses.
PBH Developments, LLC recently submitted a preliminary plat map to the County Planning Dept calling for the platting and development of parcels containing sections of the Beacon Hill Trail System just north of Camp Sekani. Several acres within the plat map were nominated for the Conservation Futures program in 2016. Through the hard work of Evergreen East volunteers, City Parks, County Parks, and local landowners over 140-acres of land within Beacon Hill was nominated under the Conservation Futures program. The County is now working through the Conservation Futures prioritization list in conserving the County-wide lands.
We need your help to show just how important the Beacon Hill Trail System is to the Spokane Region. Take a look at the map below, these are the areas that are being proposed for future development under the new preliminary plat map.
Please submit comments or a personal anecdote as to why Beacon Hill and Camp Sekani is important to you. Please be mindful that this property is privately owned and that only a small portion of the proposed plat map directly impacts the Beacon Hill Trail System. Evergreen is in support of development which does not impact local trail systems.
Our goal has been and will continue to be to work with private landowners and land managers to protect and preserve Spokane’s local riding areas. If we are to succeed in preserving Beacon we must be respectful and avoid attacking others.
