Evergreen East Needs Your Help – Volunteer Today!
All of the work we do is done by volunteers. We are always looking for people to help us out in a wide variety of capacities both behind the scenes and on the trails. Some of our volunteer work is event based and some is ongoing. Evergreen East is strictly volunteer based; we don’t have paid staff. We depend on the help of the local mountain bike community to make things happen.
If you work for a larger company, check with your HR Department for information on their volunteer hours matching program.
Here are just a few of the ways you can donate your time to Evergreen:
Membership Chair – Building our membership base is crucial for the organization. We need an enthusiastic person{s} to help us grow in quantity and quality of members. This is important to maintain and grow the organization and for how the community sees us.
Group Ride Coordinator – We want to develop our own group ride program! Group rides are important for building community and engaging riders. We need someone who is enthusiastic and social to get some rides going.
Newsletter Editor – Getting our e-news out regularly and keeping it interesting is important for communicating with our members and friends. We are looking for someone to take this on. We have a template and an automated system – all you need to do is collect info and paste it together. The goal is to get it out about once a month.
PR/Media – Help us keep get the word out! We need a volunteer to make sure that our events and information get out on all local and regional media, print, and calendars.
Event Staffing – Evergreen puts on a variety of events throughout the year. We also regularly have information tables at other organization’s events. And we need people to help! These volunteer positions typically last anywhere from a couple hours to a full day.
Coaches and Assistants – Our education program is growing! Teaching mountain bike skills is a great way to give back to our sport. We can use assistants to help make classes happen and coaches to teach. Evergreen has a fantastic, professional training program to teach you how to teach.
Other projects: Our signage at Camp Sekani is 1/2 done, and the map is out of date. These are just two examples of projects that need volunteers to finish them.
