6/22 at 9AM. If you have always wanted to get involved in trail work or wanted to learn the basics of trail work or are a seasoned vet looking to learn new techniques, this class is for you. The class and field work will be taught and supervised by members of Evergreen’s professional trail staff. This is a great opportunity to learn from the pros!
We especially love to teach new people who have never done trail work before, so don’t hesitate to sign up and we will show you the ropes!
Pizza will be provided by Evergreen for lunch

A site is chosen that covers most of the concepts reviewed in the classroom portion

Location:
Classroom: The shed at Camp Sekani located near the parking area here
Field portion: Depending on soil moisture we will be doing tread work on the Carousel trail or Rabid Rabbit trail.
Schedule (please plan to arrive a few minutes early so we can begin on time):

9am – sign in, introductions, plan for the day

9:30am – Begin classroom slideshow presentation

10:30 tool talk

11:00 – Lunch

11:30 – Meet at trailhead talk safety and work plan

12:30pm – Hike to worksite and begin work
-
3:00-4:00 – Gather up tools and hike out (Time depending on work and weather)
What to bring and wear:
- Wear layers of clothing appropriate for the weather. We work in the rain! Wear sturdy shoes appropriate for muddy, uneven surfaces.
- We will provide lunch. You should bring any snacks/drinks you want during the day.
- Gloves
- We will provide trail tools
