Come help the Friends improve the trails in the Southeast corner of the High Drive Bluff Park near the 57th Ave trailhead. We’ll be doing maintenance to alleviate the effects of erosion and curb future degradation of the trails.

What to Expect:
While we’re all pitching in to maintain the trails we use, we’ll have fun and work hard. No experience is necessary.

Project Description:
Our project will include a variety of maintenance activities. Tasks include improving drainage, trail realignment, and clearing the trail corridor.

Hiking Information:
Our hike to the project site will be non-challenging, and under a mile roundtrip.

Schedule:
9:30 AM: Meet at the 57th Ave trailhead. Sign in and meet the crew, rain or shine.
9:35 AM: Gather for a safety briefing, then hike to the project site
Morning: Work at your own pace.
12:00 PM: Done!

What you need to know:
No experience necessary. Bring a smile and a willingness to help.
Expect to be physically active at your own pace for about 2.5 hours on uneven terrain
Recommended for ages 10 and older; under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
We’ll supply tools, but if you have a favorite shovel or hoe, feel free to bring it.

What you need to wear:
Boots
Long pants
Work gloves
Long-sleeved shirt recommended
Eye protection recommended (glasses, sunglasses or safety glasses)

What you need to bring:
A shovel, hoe, polaski, or other tool of choice
Plenty of water
A snack
A rain jacket
Extra warm clothing in case of wet or cold weather
A pack to carry your personal gear
A sense of adventure
A willingness to learn new skills and meet great people
